Why I Do What I Do

For nearly two decades, I have worked alongside patients as a Licensed/Certified Dental Assistant. During that time, I have seen how deeply dental anxiety can affect a person’s comfort, confidence and ability to access care.

I also learned that dental fear is rarely “just nerves.” It may be connected to a difficult past experience, fear of pain, embarrassment, sensory overwhelm or feeling a loss of control. Too often, people carry these fears quietly while also feeling judged for avoiding the dentist.

I have an interest in dental anxiety counselling because I believe people deserve a space where their fears are taken seriously and met with compassion. By bringing together my experience in dentistry and my training in counselling psychology, I hope to help clients understand their anxiety, communicate their needs and approach dental care feeling more prepared, empowered and supported.
